(CNN) — Prominent liberal groups and gay rights proponents criticized President-elect Barack Obama Wednesday for choosing evangelical pastor Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at the presidential inauguration next month.

Who would they prefer preside over this conflation of Church and State? Starhawk? She’s an Anarchist and presumably knows better.

The invocation is for the benefit of Warren’s ilk in the first place. I for one am happy that Obama chose not to “veil his vices in virtuous words.” (Even if this isn’t the sort of thing meant by that verse.)
